24th -- SONO HALF/Tuesday Night Run Club:  Train for the SONO Half-Marathon with us. Our Running Club begins again in April and meets every Tuesday night @ 6:15 PM until race day, October 20th! We will be focusing on short runs from 3-5 miles on the Norwalk River Valley Trail. Runs are lead by James and Shannon Whipple, Race Directors of the Sono Half. James is an experienced ultra marathon 50/100-mile runner, and his wife Shannon also competes in ultra marathons and Ironman competitions all over the country. *Follow our Facebook page for weekly updates.

28th -- Townwide Clean Up Day:  The Wilton Conservation Commission is looking for volunteers to join them on Saturday from 9am to 12pm. This is a fantastic Earth Day event to get involved in to help clean up the community. Volunteers will meet at the Town Green Gazebo on the morning of the 28th where the Conservation Commission will be handing out work gloves and trash bags to each participant. Groups will then spread out to designated areas throughout town to pick up litter. All participants will return to the Town Green by noon to dispose of the collected litter. 5th -- Mutt Strut:  The first annual Norwalk River Valley Trail Mutt Strut fundraiser will be held Saturday, May 5th on the Trail in four towns: in Norwalk, Redding, Ridgefield and Wilton. The mutts are gonna strut their stuff while tails are wagging! This four town dog-friendly event is sure to be a hit as we celebrate this beautiful trail, build awareness of the health benefits of walking, and raise needed funds to continue expanding the trail. Hikers and their dogs will walk a one-mile section of trail to show their support. Hikers and their four-legged friends will receive a NRVT dog bandana, wrist bracelet and goodie bag when they sign in on the day of the event.

6th -- Redding Road Race:  On Sunday, May 6th, 2018 the 7th Annual Redding Road Race, “A Run for The Cows” will take place in Redding, Connecticut.  The half marathon, 7 miler and Kids’ Piglet Prance, benefiting New Pond Farm Education Center, is the most prestigious and in-demand running event in Connecticut.  The race is annually the biggest event in Redding and, we believe,  the best running race in Connecticut.  

18th- 28th -- Thule Sale:  Get your car equipped for spring riding season. From bike racks to boxes, backpacks, strollers and more, all Thule product will be on sale at 20% off.

20th -- Hobie Kayak Fishing and Safety Clinic:  Join Outdoor Sports Center and Hobie this Sunday at 1:00 pm for our first Kayak Fishing and Safety Clinic. The clinic will be held upstairs in the boating section of Outdoor Sports Center. Receive great tips and tricks from Hobie Pro angler, Shawn Barham, covering topics such as:

  •  Kayak and Water Safety
  •  Intro to Kayak Fishing
  •  Outfitting your Kayak 
  • Fishing Equipment
  • Landing Fish on a Kayak. 

20th -- Bloomin' Metric:  Join over 2,500 novice to advanced riders this year, at the 41st Bloomin' Metric - Connecticut's Premier Bicycling Event! Choose from 4 routes that ride along stunning beaches and through classic New England countryside.(25K, 40K, 75K & 100K) Sherwood Island State Park (Westport, CT) Register now for early bird rate of $55!

21st -- No Man's Land:   No Man's Land is an all-female adventure film that meets a need and desire to highlight and connect women in pursuit of the radical. Their mission is to support a shared vision of gender equality through a uniquely female lens, which showcases women exploring their passions, environments and above all, love for adventure. No Man's Land strives to create a history of motivating audiences to implement and inspire change. Playing as part of our Outdoor Adventure Film Series, in the Warehouse on May 21st at 7pm. 



3rd -- TriRidgefield:   A triathlon in our backyard, the TriRidgefield is a local triathlon including a 1/2 mile swim, 12.75mi bike ride, and 3.1mi run. There will be post-event prizes for top 3 male & female finishers, as well as complementary breakfast sandwiches, Prime Taco, coffee, and more.

18th -- Rowayton Fun Run:   The Rowayton fun run is a 2.2/4.4mi run with prizes and chilly refreshments after the race. The beautiful USATF course runs through downtown Rowayton and Bell's Island. Bring the kids and do the short course, or surround yourself with others on the long loop. This race is "super laid-back and low-key," so runners of any level are welcome.

30th -- Forbidden Forest Ultra Run:   This run is for those who want to test themselves. This 2.2 mile trail loop in the Roosevelt Forest in Stratford, CT will be home to the Forbidden Forest Ultra Run, which is a 30 hour continuous event in 25, 50, 75, and 100 mile categories. Challenge yourself and sign up today.



19th-22nd -- Sidewalk Sale:  Don't miss a chance to save on skis, snowboards, helmets, and boots during the off season. 4th -- Southwest Cafe Margarita Run:   Who wouldn't want a nice cool drink on a hot day? Well... this one you have to earn. The Southwest Cafe in Ridgefield is giving out one free margarita to all those (over 21) who finish the 5k race. Those under 21 can have a soft drink, and all proceeds from the race support the Sunrise Cottage.



20th -- SoNo Half Marathon/5k:  Join us in running the 5th annual SoNo Half Marathon, 5K and Kids Fun Run, taking place on Saturday, October 20th, 2018. Enjoy a unique and exciting course through historic South Norwalk, along beautiful coastline, down charming picturesque treelined streets and past many of Norwalk's notable landmarks and attractions. Then, celebrate your finish with a beer and some food post race.
